IT Solution Engineer - Amsterdam

As an IT Solution Engineer within ABN Amro Clearing you play a crucial role in moving our business forward. You will have responsibility for adherence and the design of IT solutions . You will focus on the optimal use of our IT landscape and steer our change in the direction of our defined future state architecture. Today, but also in the future ABN Amro Clearing wants to use new technologies. The function of IT Solution Engineer is best described as:

1. Dealing with Complexity. ABN Amro Clearing is a bank in itself. As an IT Solution Engineer you are able to balance short-term delivery of IT solutions against delivery of long-term solutions that fit within strategy and architecture.
2. Deliver. Our business lines are demanding. You are able to discuss the opportunities as well as  the constraints related to business requests. Business requirements are key, but fit within the application of the IT architecture strategy is your responsibility and is governed by you.
3. Technology. Our IT environment provides lots of opportunities to work on tactical and strategic level related to the impact of IT-events as DevOps, Cloud and Blockchain.

It is your job to oversee our application landscape. But also to inspire, involve and activate the development teams with each and every change. You investigate, tune and verify standards and strategic views with internal and external global stakeholders (e.g. product owners, business managers, IT managers, external authorities). You support decision making by creating, providing and communicating clear deliverables.

You develop and maintain solutions architectures in line with global target architecture, global policies, security standards and best practices covering all aspects from business service down to related information technology (the full stack) in order to contribute to and increase the reliability, security, flexibility, quality and cost efficiency of the global organization.

You have a unique combination of development experience with a passion for technology, and have a strong interest to work in the global capital markets. Your technology is up-to-date, so CI/CD, Cloud and Micro-services are nothing new to you. At the same time, you realise that our systems need to be up and running, the markets, our customers and our users depend on us. 

You have a minimum of  4 years of work experience in the IT application domain, within a comparably complex environment (high stakes, in- & external stakeholders, complex IT environment, different time zones and different cultures).

You have experience with  IT architecture and can think on conceptual level. You have strategic and analytical skills and the ability to understand, inspire and activate others.
