As an Enterprise Architect Digital Channels you...

• Define the architecture for the Digital Channels, including integration points with other platforms and designs.
• Guide the evolution of Digital Channels into ING’s global platforms, and are able to translate long-term roadmaps in concrete steps.
• Ensure that the architecture is implemented according to plan, minimizing technical/tactical  debt and complexity. Escalate to management if required.
• Share your knowledge and help domains to successfully use the capabilities of Digital Channels.
• Improve the quality and consistency, and reduce the time-to-market for the platform.
• Define ambitious but realistic Implementation Roadmaps and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) items together with Tribe Leads, Product Owners, IT leads, Domain Architects and Squads of the platform.
• Actively guard security and data integrity in the design, implementation and operation of platforms using standard industry frameworks. You are mandated to define global standards in collaboration with other Architects, Engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Break down, together with Domain Architects, desired (business and IT) themes into epics and features across multiple platforms, that can be further refined into implementable stories.
• Provide guidance to Engineers, Product Owners, Chapter Leads, Managers and Squads for the platform by describing design patterns in Cookbooks together with the engineering discipline. Describe how these best practices can actually be implemented in practice.

What department?

The Wholesale Banking Enterprise Architecture department is a team of about 30 people that has the mission to develop and execute the architecture and advice on the strategy of the Wholesale Banking business line in order to position adequate IT capabilities for changing business needs and moving towards a globally scalable banking platform. These IT capabilities are not always restricted to Wholesale Banking but can cover all business lines within the bank. We work in a fun and creative environment and we’re dedicated to bringing out the best in each other and our projects.

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

You are able to design, architect and build the Digital Channels in a truly international environment. You can easily communicate, inspire and motivate engineers, as well as the CIOs of the business lines. You are intrinsically motivated, a self-starter, and can work independently, finding your way to other architects and colleagues in our organisation. You have the power and the influencing skills to make Digital Channels a success. You are a technology evangelist and you have extensive knowledge and curiosity in the underlying technologies, security standards, frameworks and platforms for the development, deployment and hosting of web applications and mobile applications and APIs.

Besides this, you have:

• a MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years’ experience with web and mobile architectures
• proven international experience
• demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of architecture and web and mobile application design
• demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
