A Lead UX Designer at ING’s WBAA works to ship world-class data-driven products for ING; The tech-company with a banking license. You will work in talented teams and work hands on to create future experiences that might range from client-facing intelligence products to high-frequency trading platforms.

The Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics team is a team of 40 people that has the mission to make Wholesale Banking in ING data driven. We do this by combining Big Data technology with Data Science to deliver high value solutions and products for our organization.  WBAA operates as a technology accelerator/research team, with a much greater degree of agility, flexibility and experimentation than you would expect from a large financial institution.  We work in a fun and creative environment and we’re dedicated to bringing out the best in both each other and our projects.

Lead UX Designer
An expert in UX methods, user testing and prototyping, the Senior UX Designer sets-up and streamlines the UX process. He or she works with developers to decide the shape of the product while considering the business needs and stakeholders’ concerns. The biggest challenge of this position is to create a UX mindset within the scrum teams.

Responsibilities

  • work in multidisciplinary scrum teams
  • initiate, plan and conduct workshops and co-creation sessions with the client and other stakeholders
  • apply human-centered design methods
  • advocate and create a “Design mindset” within the team and organization
  • present work to key stakeholders, clearly articulating the rationale and links to defined strategy and goals
  • map out customer journeys through multiple touchpoints
  • assist product owner in roadmapping, backlog management, and planning
  • create sketches, wireframes, flows, and prototypes based on input from stakeholders (based on business objectives and technical capabilities)
  • work closely with front-end engineers and visual designer to create rich, digital experiences and develop design deliverables for the client

About you
Like all WBAA colleagues, you stand out as a driven, enterprising, result-driven professional. You’re quick, communicative, and can think on your feet. Analytical and eager to learn, you strongly value collaboration and knowledge sharing. You have at least 5 year working experience.

  • possess rock-solid design skills
  • are emphatic, ask questions and want to understand why
  • live and breath human-centered design
  • understand what product thinking entails
  • know what a proper design process looks like and can adjust applied methods and techniques to the client’s setting, maturity level, and goals
  • have an impressive portfolio and experience working with larger organizations
  • have knack for connecting the dots by analyzing data, analytics, and other metrics
  • understand having an agile mindset is more important than merely doing the scrum rituals
  • know how to have fun, can handle feedback and possess a sharp eye for consistency
  • welcome and actively pursue knowledge exchange with peers
  • is multi-talented, with additional skills in visual design, copywriting, data analysis, a/b testing, optimization, front-end, illustrations, typography or other relevant skills (surprise us!)
