Functional Tester (C#/Selenium) in Amsterdam

We are Swapfiets; started in 2014 and currently active in nearly fifty cities, across four different countries. At our HQ in Amsterdam, we work with around a hundred colleagues to offer the very best user experience to our customers, who in turn receive epic service from a team of 1200+ swappers and bicycle makers.

In this role, you will be part of the Engineering team; the heart of our operation. You will implement and coordinate a thorough test process in an emerging team. You take the lead in functional testing, maintaining and writing new automated tests and coaching your colleagues on testing practices. On a daily basis, you’ll be creating test scenarios, testing new functionalities, optimizing the speed of tests running in our pipelines and following up on issues found. Furthermore, you'll check whether the functionalities that have been built, match the requirements.

What are you going to do?

• Take ownership of the whole testing process and following up until issue resolution;
• Develop and execute end-to-end, regression, integration, automated and stress (load, performance) testing and database querying of features and experiments;
• Exploratory bug hunting and testing of products on a website, app and internal systems, based on the expected design of these applications;
• Troubleshooting and investigating issues, improving product documentation for reducing problem-to-resolution time and improving testing practices;
• Work with a variety of stakeholders and with multiple products for identifying quality requirements, track quality assurance metrics and provide relevant reports;
• Provide training and workshops on the topic of testing culture and best practices;
• Stay up-to-date with testing tools, methods, and strategies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Expert knowledge of manual testing and testing process in Agile software development.
• Sufficient knowledge of writing tests in Selenium, C#, Gherkin (BDD), working with SQL databases and running your tests in Azure DevOps environment.
• Experience to leave your mark on test automation, API testing and testing processes.
• Joy in giving demos, transferring knowledge, and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Plenty of courage: you are not afraid to show entrepreneurship and take responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills in English. Dutch is considered a plus.
• A plus: Experience with Azure Cloud.
