The Advanced Analytics Center of Expertise (AAD CoE) is a comprehensive data & analytics department part of Customer and Digital Experience in ABN AMRO Retail Banking. We strongly believe banking should be made easier, more intuitive, personal and delightful to create sustainable long-term relationships and dialogues with our customers. We develop suitable solutions that provide our customers with greater clarity and financial control.

We are currently seeking for a skilled Data Analyst with a solid quantitative background and a passion for working with advanced statistics techniques and state of the art data visualization tools to distill analytical insights from ever more rich data sets. Think of solving various business challenges that positively impact our bank and our customers by use of e.g., expenses forecasting, customer segmentation, customer targeting, product bundling, recommendations, text mining, predictive routing etc. You will be supported by your colleagues, experienced data analysts, data and ML engineers, information insight enablers and data scientists.

The job

As Data Analyst in the BI & Analytics team of AAD CoE, you work closely with various Customer & Digital Experience (CDX) departments contributing to improving the customer experience. You will provide strategic and analytical support for BI activities. You will support the business community to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into analytical insights, while being heavily involved with their distribution and successful delivery. You will contribute to further developing the strategy and implementing self-service BI in Retail Banking.

You have a proven business and/or marketing acumen and abilities to translate business requirements into analytical insights and products. You are an excellent negotiation partner for various stakeholders in Retail Banking and can work with insights on developments across various digital and non-digital channels and other bank-wide systems.

The profile

You are an up to speed digital data analyst for whom modern data visualization tooling and methods are natural extensions. The job requires excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail and consistency. Considering we are organized in multi-disciplinary teams, it is essential to be a team-player, creative and be able to inspire.

Preferred qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university or college in Computer Science, Data or Business Analytics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a commercial and analytical online marketing profession
  • Partner with business community to define and document business requirements for new metrics, reports, dashboards and storyboards
  • Inspire, tailor and assert control during interactions with business partners and favor both challenging and relationship-building
  • Design, develop and maintain promoted reports and dashboards 
  • Evaluate alternate solutions and design processes and systems, including user impact considerations, cost and benefit analysis and processing specifications
  • Use current knowledge of business and technology to recommend systems and process improvements 
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of promoted reports and dashboards
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and works with business community to uncover unmet business needs
  • Work experience with Web analytics, BI and cloud based solutions e.g., Google Analytics, Microsoft PowerBI, DataBricks
  • Experience with statistical software packages, database and selection techniques 
  • Experience with data management and analytics in a cloud environment is a plus
  • Strong analytic skills and affinity with data analytics, (pre)processing, and data handling
  • Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment and initiative
  • Knowledge of and experience with tag management, targeting, segmentation and profiling
  • Experience with self-service BI is a plus.
