IT Manager - Application Development (PEGA) in Amsterdam

Beschrijving

We are looking for an IT Manager - Applications Development  with PEGA experience within Tech Group Services. You are an energetic Manager with expertise in setting up CoE for application development across various multi technologies where Pega being the core technology but not limited to, build cross-cultural teams of application development. You will be leading the technical teams in a highly competitive, deep knowledge in one infrastructure-related topic.
You are at least a competent Dev Engineer, and this will be your role in the squad for 60% of your time. You will develop consumable, end-to-end infrastructure services for your consumers together with your squad. You are able to move all typical user stories and tasks from “To-Do” to “Done”. The remaining 40% you spend on building up expertise in your chapter and developing your chapter members. You are enthusiastic about transferring your knowledge to others, and about coaching around 5-7 members of your Chapter and oversee their personal development.

What you'll do

  • Develop consumable, standardized infrastructure services (resilient, high quality, highly automated and up-to-date)
  • Support and educate consumers on using the standardized infrastructure services
  • Implement mandatory security standards and develop an ecosystem of tools to provide self-service capabilities to the consumer
  • Manage all resources in version-controlled repositories (incl., code, scripts, configurations, artifacts, static resources)
  • Write fully automated tests (e.g., unit-, functional-, non-functional- and integration testing)
  • Participate rigorously in DevOps rituals (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, retrospective, peer reviews)
  • Collaborate within and across squads to understand your services end-to-end
  • Advise Product Owner and Infra Area Lead on resource planning
  • Align individual and overall performance of the Chapter, coach and identify top performers with Infra Area Lead
  • Ensure training opportunities are available as required
  • Support recruiting of talents (e.g. interview applicants)
  • Regularly organize alignment meetings on Chapter specific topics to update colleagues on new developments

 

How to succeed

  • Deep knowledge of DevOps way of working (e.g., continuous delivery, cross-functional team set-ups, development of cross-skilled squad members)
  • Knowledge across stack, technologies and ecosystems
  • Impact of different factors on performance and capacity of services
  • Technical implications of Security and Risk principles  
  • Working knowledge of configuration tools like Puppet, Chef or Ansible
  • Scripting experience in at least one of the following: Ruby, Python, Bash
  • Experience with virtualization environments and tools e.g., VMware, cloud forms
  • Understanding of the Scrum methodology and Lean practices
  • Empowering and challenging squad members to foster individual development
  • Professional and intellectual IT ability at university level - at least Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in both engineering and leadership roles in Agile teams, e.g. as Scrum Master, Product Owner, DevOps Engineer

  • Track record of developing people and knowledge through coaching or mentoring

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

  • Minimum15 years of rich application development experience

  • The mindset of continuous improvement of the service and way of working
