Having one Master Data Management solution creates a single home for all ING’s master data ensuring that we can always meet regulatory standards. The tribe Global Customer Data Management (GCDM) contributes to the ING strategy by delivering the customer data management business functions which are a precondition for creating real-time global processes, and continuous improvement of customer data as a driver for improved processes, reporting and analysis. GCDM supports the ING platform by delivering global customer data solutions. Empowering the ING Platform by providing a single source of truth on the customer and deliver standardized customer lifecycle management capabilities. The tribe operates from three locations, Amsterdam, Leeuwarden and Manila.

ING is looking for a Business Data Analyst - Modeler

For the tribe Global Customer Data Management we are looking for a business analyst - data modeler to join the Centre of Expertise Data Management. The Centre of Expertise owns and maintains the global customer data model and reference data and is responsible for the development, maintenance and usage of the model on a global scale. The experienced business analyst/data modeler plays a key role in these activities, together with the members of the centre of expertise. Responsibilities are developing solutions with global and local ING entities in a business perspective, consulting on global and local usage and implementation, guidance for the implementation in the distribution services such as API’s, as well as the data policy, governance and management, and last but not least information and education. The Centre of Expertise is located in Amsterdam, stakeholders are located in ING countries across the globe.

Your role & work environment
As business analyst / modeler you are responsible for data related aspects of global ING customer data capabilities. Responsibilities are

  • Business information analysis, gathering and validating with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Data policy and modelling from use cases to conceptual business model to data exchange model, produce business data outline document incl. use cases, definitions and design decision. Guidance to consumers and producers of data held in OnePAM (the work name of ING’s global data platform).
  • Work together with Customer Journey experts of the Tribe to ensure a perfect customer experience.
  • Consulting: helping ING domains to achieve results with data concepts, e.g. applying data concepts and data mapping to the global platform.
  • Ensuring compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities
  • Provide data integration and design expertise that will lead to the appropriate linking and integration of data from different source systems.
  • Understand and translate business and data requirements into logical & physical data models in support of OLTP, Operational Data Stores, data warehouses and data marts
  • Create and maintain excellent data documentation that allows the data to be understood and leveraged for additional use
  • Ensure that data designs reflect appropriate business rules and follow architectural directions

Skills/experience

  • A master degree in information science or equivalent
  • 5 to 15 years of experience in business modelling and data management
  • Be able to communicate with business and IT people on various levels
  • Experience with data modelling
  • A good general knowledge of the banking industry and banking products
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to create conceptual designs
  • English language skills, verbally and in writing
  • Team player with good communication and documentation skills and a proactive attitude
  • Experience with working in an agile environment

Knowledge requirements – you would be our preferred candidate if you have

  • Experience with Master Data Management
  • Experience with data migration and testing
  • Experience with APIs / working with endpoints
  • Data Scientist qualifications
