Senior Product Manager / Director Advanced Analytics in Amsterdam

ING is looking for a Senior Product Manager / Director Advanced Analytics

As Senior Product Manager / Director Advanced Analytics you will originate and build data-driven algorithmic products. This is an entrepreneurial and global role in an innovative international team.

What we expect from you

• Manage data-driven products so that they generate significant value for ING and its customers
• In earlier product stages: work with a squad of Data Scientists, UXers, and Engineers to discover the potential of a product, the user problem (user research) and validate and prototype
• In later product stages: develop the go-to-market approach and potential business models
• Lead multi-disciplinary squads to build products and/or lead product management in a larger  squad with complex commercial and/or organizational challenges
• Manage stakeholders up to very senior level, e.g. ING Innovation Fund, senior business sponsors
• Coach and guide junior Product Managers
• Good understanding of innovation and product management methodologies such as Lean, Agile and Design Thinking
• Ability to develop structured product concepts from abstract ideas and lead prototyping
• Set up fintech partnerships that help accelerate prototyping and product development
• Demonstrate thought leadership internally and externally
• Understanding and enthusiasm for technology, advanced analytics and data science methods

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience as product manager, strategy consultant or similar role
• University degree; Top MBA holders are encouraged to apply
• Written and spoken fluency in English

What could your day look like?

Any given day will be different, but one of them might look like this: Start off the day with the daily standup with your product squad. Afterwards you work with them planning and defining the upcoming experiments. The next meeting is with UX, who wants to run through his latest research results with you. This will be important input for you to prioritize the backlog for upcoming sprint.

You go for lunch with the hot AI Fintech that is using voice data to predict trading behavior, who you spotted coming out of a Startup Accelerator. Then, you run a workshop with a team that has been thinking about an AI-related idea and help them work it out into a concrete AI challenge. This could be a project for our upcoming experiment week.

Later in the day you make your way to a conference where you are speaking about our latest developments in AI-powered bond trading products. You stay for some drinks at the conference… or you call it a day and spend some quality private time to keep a healthy balance between focus, rest and other things.
 

What department?

Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics (WBAA) has the purpose to build algorithmic data-driven products that benefit ING’s clients and the bank. With a team of about 80 engineers, data scientists, UXers and product managers, WBAA has proven its ability to deliver value through “lighthouse” products and a number of cases co-developed with Fintechs.
