We are looking for an experienced full stack engineer who will build the platform for our Loyalty program and offer the best user experience for our customers. We look for an engineer with modern day engineering skills and competences like an eye for innovation, creativity, attention to details and communication.

Who we are

We are Squad Loyalty and we build and maintain the ING Points Shop. This is a full grown web shop where ING customers can get discounts with loyalty points for all kind of products or vouchers. The platform consists of the front-end web shop, the back-end API’s (and datastores) that handle the stock in the warehouse, placing orders, shipping products and handling returns. We are continuously improving these processes by monitoring bottlenecks and asking customers for feedback.

Who you are

You are a highly motivated engineer who likes to work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and business colleagues. Next to your work in the squad, you also like to contribute to the mastery of other engineers and improve the way of work within ING.

You are a senior full stack engineer with more than 5 years’ experience in Java back-end development and 3 years’ experience in front-end development. As a Java developer you have experience with Java 8 or higher, Spring (Boot) and back-end tooling like Maven, Jenkins, Git, Sonar and with the Tomcat server. On the front-end part you have experience with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and with NPM and Bower. You also have experience or knowledge of web component development and lit-html. Experience with OPS related activities like deployments and monitoring is a huge plus.

You have experience with applying (back-end) design patterns and architecture. You have great analytical skills and conceptual understanding. You are able to quickly understand new technical concepts and technology and you have a strong interest in, and vision of, the latest trends in software development and technology. You have experience with giving presentations and workshops, and in general have strong communication skills that enable you to explain complex technical concepts to non-techies. Your English in speaking and writing is fluent and you are a team player who likes to join the social events of the squad and ING organisation.
