Product Area Lead – Chief Product Owner Enterprise Data Management

The CDMO Organization is responsible for delivering data availability, data quality, transparency & control and empower the organization with united Data Management and an Analytics Platform.

Data Management is the generic term for all activities related to the lifecycle of data which is  gathering, management, maintenance, retention, archiving, governance and use of data to  the benefit of all our stakeholders customers, regulators, investors, and internal staff.

The objective of CDMO is to create a Data Management function that ensures that ING has trustable data which is fully fit for the purpose (e.g. available in time, complete, accurate, adoptable, comprehensive, consistent, and appropriate). The function comprises of state-of-the-art data management capabilities (e.g. for data quality implementation or lineage creation), data architecture and IT infrastructure. The CDMO team works closely with CDO’s, COO's, CIO's and the extended COO community to define ING's data strategy and key performance metrics.

We are looking for an energetic, mature and experienced Product Area Lead/Chief Product Owner with a passion for combining thought and action. You serve as an and lead by example and demonstrate that you are a true ambassador of the Agile way of working and the ING Orange Culture. The customer perspective is your primary driver for working in a squad.

You will become a Product Owner of the Enterprise Data Lake, one of the most important assets of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Tribe, which is part of the Tech/Chief Data Management Office (CDMO). Next to that you will be responsible for the development of the craftsmanship of the fellow product owners of the EDM Tribe, working on different capabilities within the EDM Tribe. Together with the product owners, you will work on data management capabilities, like Data Quality. You will help ING engineers and people working in data management around the globe by providing reusable assets and capabilities, working closely together with the Tech engineers, Global Data Lead and Data Quality & Data Governance teams and the Global Customer Data Management Tribe.

Our technology stack is built around IBM Infosphere Data Management suite. Experience and proven track record on a senior level with this suite is a pre. You should have, and be able to demonstrate, extensive knowledge and experience with generic data management, data warehousing, business intelligence and analytics. Also established experience leading a chapter of at least proficient and preferably and expert professionals is required.

Above all, as Product Area Lead/Chief Product Owner, you are a “doer”. Sixty percent of your time, you work as a squad member towards accomplishing a squad’s mission. You use your seniority to maximize team performance.

More in particular you will:

  • from the perspective of the Enterprise Data Management Tribe, develop and maintain an internal/external, international/domestic network in order to promote ING's interests and to increase his/her own professionalism, knowledge-sharing and development of standards.
  • make an active and significant contribution to relevant internal and external meetings and events related to Enterprise Data Management Tribe and its associated technology.
  • be responsible for change management aspects concerning the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL), in terms of organisation and culture for the Enterprise Data Management chapter owners and initiate improvements focusing on the efficiency and quality of services.
  • be one of the  ambassadors for the Enterprise Data Management Tribe, you lead and foster a culture that values, protects and uses data and you are a role model to  strengthen the ING One Agile Way of Working while safeguarding the Orange Code.
