During our two-year programme, you create your own career within Information Technology. You learn more about your chosen discipline and about the complex IT environment within ING. you to discover yourself through a wide selection of (online)  professional and personal skills trainings.

As an IT trainee you can choose from a number of important IT projects, within which you will make a significant contribution. Now more than ever, IT is the beating heart of ING. Terms such as artificial intelligence, fintech, blockchain, cloud, continuous delivery, API and full stack and have become part of the bank’s standard vocabulary with good reason. We have 6,6 million customers who make use of online banking, and our mobile app is among the top ten most popular apps. All departments within our organization, such as the dealing room, work with state-of-the-art software which we develop in-house. 
 

Your first year
 

ING takes a customer-centric approach and IT plays a crucial role in that, which is why we are looking for trainees with a real passion for IT. Your trainee manager will assist you in choosing your first rotation which lasts approximately six months.  Based on your own interests, you can indicate your preferences so that we can work together to find a suitable starting role for you. You could set to work as DevOps Engineer, IT Security Engineer, Architect, Java Developer or in the area of Cyber security,  for example.
 

As a trainee you will also receive guidance from your line manager. If you are looking for additional guidance you can ask a Senior Manager to mentor you. They will coach you, inspire you, introduce you to their network and share their knowledge and insights with you.
 

You are in charge of your second assignment. Now it comes down to addressing your network and taking the initiative.  We encourage it to gain international experience during this six-month period, which is not only great fun but is also good for your personal and professional development, if possible with if possible with local Covid-19 restrictions.

Our IT trainee

  • Has a master’s degree from a university, preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, Software/Computer Engineering or Mathematics (with clear programming affinity).

  • Has an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn your ideas into reality.

  • Has have an interest to learn more about banking/finance

When applying for the IT traineeship April 2021, remember to upload your complete application: CV, motivational questions and grade lists (Bachelor and Master till now) in English. if you are sure you are what we are looking for, go for it!
 

The first interview round (HR interview) will be scheduled as soon as you pass the three part assessment.

The second interview round (Business Panels) will be held around week 3 of 2021.

We have a limited amount of traineeship positions per traineeship, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible!
