Your new job!

You are an energetic Chapter Lead with expertise in people management and knowledge in Crypto and PKI (experience in working in a high secure environment / highly regulated environment). You are at least a competent DevOps Engineer, and this will be your role in the squad for 60% of your time. You will develop consumable, end-to-end infrastructure services for your consumers together with your squad. You are able to move all typical user stories and tasks from “To-Do” to “Done”.

The remaining 40% you spend on building up expertise in your chapter and developing your chapter members. You are enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge with others, and about coaching around 6-9 members of your Chapter and oversee their personal development.

You will be working on different locations (offices in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, home and on datacenters).

The squad consists of two chapters, one with focus on infrastructure, the other with focus on the crypto applications. This CL position is focused on the application part.

What will you do? (Capabilities)

1. Deliver full infrastructure service to the consumer

  • Develop consumable, standardized Crypto & PKI services (resilient, high quality, highly automated and up-to-date)
  • Support consumers on using the standardized Crypto & PKI services
  • Adhere to and maintain in control of the ING security standards

2. Apply continuous delivery practices

  • Manage all resources in version-controlled repositories
  • Build, enhance and maintain tooling and scripts to automate repetitive or error prone tasks
  • Build monitoring environment with Elasticsearch/Kibana (HSM monitoring)

3. Apply and improve DevOps way of working

  • Implement user stories from backlog as agreed with the Product Owner
  • Participate in DevOps rituals
  • Continuously improve yourself, your squad and the service
    • Conduct root cause analysis to identify service improvements
    • Actively ask for feedback and coaching for improvement
    • Provide feedback to squad members to avoid waste
  • Collaborate within and across squads to understand your services end-to-end

4. Developing skills of employees within Chapter

  • Advise Product Owner and Infra Area Lead on resource planning
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching and mentoring to Chapter members
  • Align individual and overall performance of the Chapter, and identify top performers
    • Evaluate performance of Chapter members
    • Ensure training opportunities are available as required
    • Recruiting of talents

5. Developing specific knowledge

  • Stay up to date on your topic and apply your learnings
  • Regularly organize alignment meetings on Chapter specific topics to update colleagues on new developments
  • Define standards and best practices for your Chapter

Your education and background

  • Professional and intellectual IT ability at university level - at least Bachelor's degree
  • Extensive experience in both engineering and leadership roles in Agile teams, e.g. as Scrum Master, Product Owner, DevOps Engineer
  • Track record of developing people and knowledge through coaching or mentoring
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English
