IT Solutions Designer in Amsterdam

The IT Solutions Designer role reports to the CIO and the GITSO and is based in our ABN AMRO Clearing Office in Sydney.  This role is a permanent full-time role.

ROLE PURPOSE

As an IT Solutions Designer within ABN AMRO Clearing, you will play a crucual role in moving our business forward. The successful candidate will be responsible for the adherence and design of IT Solutions, and will focus on the optimal use of our IT landscape to steer change in the direction of our defined future state architecture.

This role deals with complexity. You will be required to balance short-term delivery of IT soltuions against long-term solutions that fit within our strategy and architecture. Also, our business lines are demanding. You will be required to discuss opportunities and constraints related to business requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing technical design and solutions for APAC IT Architecture which is compliant and secure
• Responsible for reviewing existing end-to-end designs and technical solutions incorporating the infrastructure and software components
• Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign along with the Project and Infrastructure Manager
• Produce a solutions architecture document to match business requirements, providing high level solutions and cost estimates for each project
• Complete and co-implement a configuration workbook
• Co-team with the infrastructure and development teams or subject matter experts to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements
• Provide current best practice and third party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document
• Maintain good understanding of the latest technologies and industry trends, specifically applications
• Maintain good knowledge on Cloud developments
• Participate in project meetings and the product life cycle

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree or equivalent qualifications
• 8+ years experience working within an IT technical role, with 5+ years working experience in a Financial or Regulatory environment
• Working knowledge of TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL and similar frameworks
• Fluent in architectural modelling in Archimate
• Proven experience in developing solutions across IT domains
• Ability to work both at a conceptual level as well as an actual solution level
• Ability to align business and IT strategies to deliver maximum organisational benefits
• Deadline-oriented individual with an focus on detail and product quality
• Excellent leadership, communication and documentation skills, particularly when facilitating and conveying information between business and technical staff
• Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to customer needs and corporate objectives
