Senior Front-End Engineer Digital Retail Channels in Amsterdam

ING is looking for an experienced full stack engineer with a strong focus on front-end who will build the foundation of our web channels to offer the best user experience for our customers. We are looking for an engineer with modern day engineering skills and competences like an eye for innovation, creativity, attention to details and communication.

We are

ING Bank’s Digital Retail Channel squads. We are responsible for the development of the web features for offering best in-class digital experience to our customers. Within Digital Retail Channel, Team IVY has the ING Product shop in portfolio. The team is also responsible for the third party platform, which enables multiple third parties to be connected to the ING banking app and web based offerings to make banking easier, fun, personal and more engaging. We build our components with JavaScript and TypeScript and our API’s with Java and Spring.

You are

A highly motivated engineer who likes to work in an international multidisciplinary team of engineers and business colleagues. Next to your work in the squad, you also like to contribute to the mastery of other engineers and improve the way of work within ING.

You are a proficient full stack engineer with a focus on front-end development. You are a hardcore JavaScript developer who has experience with TypeScript, NodeJS and NPM. You have knowledge of, and/or experience with, the latest JavaScript versions and Web Components concepts and technology with litHTML and litElement. You have experience with applying (front-end) design patterns and architecture. Beside that you are familiar with backend technology like REST API’s, Java Spring and cloud technologies.

You have great analytical skills and conceptual understanding. You are able to quickly understand new technical concepts and technology and you have a strong interest in, and vision of, the latest trends in software development and technology. You have experience with giving presentations and workshops, and in general have strong communication skills that enable you to explain complex technical concepts to non-techies. Your English in speaking and writing is fluent and you are a team player who likes to join the social events of the squad and ING organization.
