i3D.net is a leading provider of high-performance, low-latency hosting through a vast, privately-owned global network. As game sector veterans, we know what it takes for a network to withstand heavy demands, and as of 2019, we are a member of the Ubisoft family. Now we’re growing faster than ever, keeping some of the world’s biggest games and WebRTC services online, and their users connected.

The role
As a fast growing Game Hosting company, we are looking to grow our Agile Development team with a WordPress Developer on medior/senior level. Our main challenges are:
  • Managing multiple WordPress websites with a combination of many third party plugins. Some of the existing integrations do not fully satisfy our needs, which may require customizations, creating new functionalities or specific queries.
  • Improving and optimizing performance, especially on mobile, to ensure an optimal user experience and the best possible scores on the latest website ranking requirements, such as Google's core web vitals.
  • How to integrate multiple API-based tools, such as HubSpot CRM, e-singing tool PandaDoc and our own in-house admin panel.
Together with the rest of the Development department, the Graphic/Web Designer and other colleagues of the Product & Marketing team, you define the technical solutions to these challenges. To be truly part of both departments, you will work 50% of your time at the Product & Marketing office and 50% of your time with at the Development teams office. We believe that our public websites are the fundamental basis of the success of a game and we rely on our developers to make sure we offer stable and reliable websites.
About you
Our Agile Development teams are mainly self-organizing. So, you are not only a highly technically skilled person, but you are also a team player with good communication and coordination skills. You know all about the Agile mindset and enjoy taking responsibility. We are continuously looking for ways to improve and therefore hope you to take the initiative to help us with this.
Work environment
Working during the pandemic is a challenge, but we can proudly say we have met that challenge head-on. Despite the distance, we can collaborate, bond, and get you settled. You’ll also have the freedom to structure your days, work times, and environment. If you feel safer working from home, take advantage of our budget for your home office equipment. Alternatively, feel free to use our Rotterdam office, including the fully equipped gym, kitchen, and gaming room (whilst complying with social distancing measures, of course).
Your Responsibilities
  • You take (co-)responsibility for the web development, maintenance and optimization of our public websites, the integration of various API tools and visualize data from numerous sources.
  • Together with the team you translate functional requirements and features into a technical design and architecture.
  • You take part in overall software development improvement initiatives that are a combined effort with the other development teams.
Your Skills
  • You are an expert in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with vanilla PHP.
  • You have thorough knowledge of WordPress whereby you have the ability to write new plugins, themes and deal with page builders such as Elementor.
  • You are experienced in debugging and troubleshooting.
  • You are an expert in speed optimization by implementations like caching and CDN integrations.
  • You know how to work with GIT workflows.
  • Experience with and/or affinity for UX/UI is a bonus.
  • You are experienced in working in a team and have an Agile mindset.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
