Sr. IT-Architect for Private Infra Platforms in Amsterdam

As a senior IT-Architect you:

• Write Solution Architectures and Target State Designs for Infrastructure Platform Solutions. You’re in the driving seat for Architecture Runways, yet you co-create them as thought leader together with the Infrastructure Platform- and Product Owners.
• Are the ‘goto-expert’ for Architecture and Design considerations for Infrastructure Services. 
• Make sure your designs fit within our Enterprise Architecture Standards including Platform Architectures.
• Organize community guilds to make sure our Target State Designs are actually what people are waiting for
• Review Solution Architectures as a gatekeeper to make sure it’s compliant with our target state direction and platform strategy going forward.
• Set architectural guidance for (senior) development engineers via the Architecture Runways.

As IT-architect you’ll be part of the Design & Engineering department with around 15 other Platform (IT) Architects. Design & Engineering is responsible for the overall design and architecture of ABN AMRO’s IT-Platforms. D&E is organized in a four Technology Clusters to give focus to ABN AMRO’s platform technology areas being:

• Private Infrastructure Cluster. You’ll be working in this tech cluster. It is responsible for the technical architecture of all Private Infrastructure services and products, like compute, , virtualization, database, (virtual) network and storage platforms.
• Public Cloud Cluster. The core of this cluster is based on Microsoft Azure. ABN AMRO is increasing adopting Cloud.
• Digital Workplace Cluster. It contains platforms, products and services so our 20.000 colleagues can work and collaborate on a daily base safe and easy.
• Developer Ecosystem Cluster. Everything the ABN AMRO developer community needs to develop, deploy and maintain its business applications.

The Design & Engineering department is part of the Platform & Technology business unit. P&T runs a standardized IT-landscape supporting all thousands of business applications. Key is flexibility to adopt new technology like cloud and support DevOps. P&T offers a wide range of self-service platform solution to the wider ABN AMRO organization. Reliable, compliant and Always on are our core values.
Within P&T we mainly work in an Agile and DevOps fashion. The D&E clusters have their own backlog, prioritized by a Tech Cluster Lead fulfilling the PO-role.
 

You’ll bring this mix of expertise and experience to the team:

• Knowledge of private cloud technologies like VMware, Red Hat, Virtualization, Storage, Network, Middleware, etc. Not only you have hands-on experience, you also know all about High Availability, RTO/RPO, DR and able to create designs for these technologies.
• Azure Cloud, CI/CD Pipelines and development methodologies are no mistery to you
• “Automation First” way of Thinking
• Deep knowledge of IT-architecture models and processes, and able to execute them.
• You understand that you'll reach more together then alone
• Open and proactive mindset. You‘re combing an engineering mindset with architectural vision.
• Experience in a DevOps and Agile way of working
• Preferably experience in a multivendor and outsourcing environment. Preferable in a regulated corporate sector (Finance, Healthcare, etc.)
