As a Data Engineer in People Analytics CoE you will: (1) maintain our ‘GHR Analytics’ platform hosted by TechPoland (2) responsible for the data architecture and infrastructure of a project together with your colleagues. This involves development of data ingestion and transformation pipelines as well as running and monitoring machine learning models.

Our Team

The People Analytics CoE consists of 15 people and is part of Global HR. We are working on projects to make ING the best place to work. Our team works agile and is structured in two squads: continuous listening (CL) and Workforce value (WFV), each squad has its own product owner and the squad’s members are either data scientists or business translators. The CL squad develops analytics products which uses data generated mainly by surveys and the WFV squad develops products for different pillars of ING’s workforce planning (structure, performance, skills & competencies). People Analytics is a relative new field and there is a lot of room for experimentation and innovation.

Job description:

As a data engineer in our team you have two main responsibilities: (1) development & production of analytics solution (2) administration of GHR Analytics platform.

People Analytics products:

  • You build, automate, and monitor end-to-end analytics solution; either ETL pipelines for our PowerBI dashboards or pipelines which connects our machine learning or NLP models to their web front-end via Flask back-end
  • You provide different solutions to tackle our challenges with employee data privacy
  • You introduce relevant technologies which relates to our analytics products; examples are Neo4j graph DB, Solr search engine, and Apache Superset for scaled dashboarding
  • You design and implement the right IAM for our dashboards & products

GHR Analytics platform: our platform consists of three Windows server (DEV/ACC/PROD) hosted by TechPoland, each server has its own (mounted) MSSQL server with (mounted) DropZones through which we collect data from our different stakeholders.

  • You support our asset owner & IT Custodians with our platform’s IT/risk items in ITRMP, RA Tool, GSCO platform (VS/TSCM monitoring), you also support conducting backup & Pentest
  • You act as the SPOC between our team & different teams in TechPoland, you will create a knowledge base explaining all different HOW-TO’s on placing questions, incidents, or requests at different teams in TechPoland: Windows server, MSSQL, Network, IAM, etc.
  • You set up monitoring the performance of our Windows servers, MSSQL servers, and IIS Webserver, you will create and update PA/NPA accounts and roles following our SOLL matrix
  • You maintain our Azure DevOps repos, boards and you will oversee the creation of our test & CI/CD pipelines
  • You help our Product Owners to connect their planning to our boards in Azure DevOps and having proper release cycles, you also guide our data scientists with best git practices
  • You will build data pipelines which connects our platform & the upcoming GHR Data Lake
  • You contribute to the design of our migration roadmap to IPC or Global Analytics platform

Programming: Python, MSSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, with Flask framework as back-end

Dashboarding: PowerBI

Do you recognize yourself in this profile:

  • Knowledge of data manipulation and transformation, e.g. SQL
  • Hands-on experience building complex data pipelines e.g. ETL
  • Programming in Python
  • Experience with development on Windows server (PowerShell, Windows IIS)
  • Experience in setting up both SQL as well as noSQL databases
  • Deployment automation tools CI/CD
  • Experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
  • Affinity with machine learning and/or natural language processing
