We are looking for an Ops Engineer to become part of the Modeling & Analytics Chapter within TECH / Group Services to work in the COO Risk and Finance, Management Reporting & Analytics (MR&A) department
How are we organised?
Within COO Risk and Finance, the objective of the Management Reporting & Analytics (MR&A) department is to automate, standardize, visualize risk data needed for the different internal and regulatory stakeholders by providing them fit for purpose data marts and reports.
One of the programs that the Modeling & Analytics Chapter is involved in, is the Model Paradigm Shift Program (MPS). The aim of the Model Paradigm Shift Program is to improve the Risk modelling capabilities of ING. Risk models are crucial for the competitive advantage of ING. The MPS systems streams will develop and build new state of the art tooling to support ING’s global Modelling community. The Purpose is to deliver standardized and globally supported, high-performing, secure, compliant and scalable environments aligned with existing ING target infrastructure. One of the application in the MPS program is SAS Model Risk Management ® (MRM) which is rolled out by the so-called iModel squad.
As an Ops Engineer you will be part of the iModel squad.

The Ops Engineer
As an Ops Engineer you will be part of the iModel squad and in that role you will be responsible for the operational support of SAS Model Risk Management ® (MRM) and automation of the release management process and its associated artefacts and interfaces.
Job description and responsibilities:
Responsible for availability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of the application. Take proactive action in investigating Security requirements, define necessary work to be done, and carry out (also documentation)
Carry out upgrades and clean installs, carry out patching, analyse capacity issues, structure processes e.g. using Ansible, Azure Devops, run scripts
Responsible for managing and carrying out all deployments on the Production and Acceptance environments
Align with your team members, also those in Amsterdam, ING Infra and ING Private Cloud departments where needed, e.g. about keeping Service-Now and CMDB in line with infra changes, patches, memory/CPU allocation, backup and restore, disaster recovery testing, security event monitoring
Facilitate the monthly business processes of the user groups. To do so, closely cooperate with functional support colleagues in your team located in Warsaw and Amsterdam. Analyse, coordinate and resolve incidents, implement changes
Where requested offer support to strategic projects, e.g. the migration of whole platform with all its components.
Coordinate user management of the applications
Coordinate and carry out IT security test procedures, e.g. related to SOX or other regulatory requirements.
Your profile
Minimum of 3 years in application management, operations or infra roles, dealing with LINUX (RHEL), Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Containerization, Kubernetes/Openshift
Knowledge of SAS Model Risk Management ® (MRM)
Knowledge of SAS9.4 & SAS Viya 3.5
Knowledge and experience (3- 5 years) with Operations activities (ITIL).
Experience (3- 5 years) with integrating commercial off-the-shelf applications within complex domains.
Experience with scripting languages and automation of manual activities (testing, deployment)
Experience with monitoring end/or debugging and/or performance tuning of applications.
Good knowledge of implementation of security measures (knowledge of ING IT Minimum standards and controls (ITRMP))
Optional: Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL) and data warehousing with the ability to apply it in the context of IT operations .
Pro-active and hands-on attitude, learns quick
Able to keep oversight of complex processes in a constantly changing environment, and/but deliver results
Team player
Strong "business sense": you have strong analytical skills and are willing to learn and understand business requests. Doing so, you develop new insights and drive towards actionable results
You communicate and align with a wide array of global stakeholders in a natural way. You are able to peel down technical problems, and explain root causes and work-around instructions to the business.
Fluent or almost fluent in English
Bachelor or Master degree
In exceptional occasions if the team request you to, you are willing to work or be stand-by outside business hours
Understanding of, or at least interested in, learning the following:
Deployment processes in CDaaS and cloud environments
IT Security
Agile/Scrum way of working
