Scala developer Streaming Data Analytics

ING is looking for an experience Scala developer to help us further develop our Streaming Data Analytics platform as part of the bigger ING Touchpoint Platform that enables ING to become a truly global bank.

Streaming Data Analytics (SDA) is a platform developed internally within ING aimed at getting real time insights based on real time data. The underlying technology is based on and deployed using Microsoft DevOps on an Openshift cluster on our internal private cloud. Users of the platform are other teams within ING, spread across various domains and countries, that use the SDA platform for purposes like fraud detection, KYC and generating realtime actionable insights.

This is what you will do

As a Scala developer you will be part of a multi-disciplinary squad of DEV and OPS engineers and help us further develop the SDA platform. You work closely with consuming teams that makes use of SDA. The focus is on building additional features in Scala but you will also learn the internals of the platform based on its metrics and logs to understand how we can further improve its scalability and resilience.

• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent
     
• Technology, tools and process knowledge
  • Strong programming skills in Scala
  • ITIL knowledge (Incident, Problem and Change Management)
  • ELK stack
  • Kubernetes / Openshift
  • Kafka
  • Azure DevOps
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages
  • Good working knowledge of Unix
     
• Mindset & soft skills
  • Willingness to do a deep dive into the internals of Apache Flink
  • Automation mindset & waste buster
  • Proactive attitude, always on the look-out for improving your and our way of working
  • Diplomacy and good communication skills
  • Not shy to express and defend his/her opinion in front of a crowd (even if it is not the popular opinion)
