At a glance

The One Data Platform Team consists of a number of subteams (streams): reliability engineering (RE), capability development and platform consultants and of course a product owner and scrum master.
We work in the data engineering community alongside a rapidly growing number of data teams both inside and outside the department, all of which have their own Domain Data Store (DDS).

Each data team serves a business line or domain and consists of data engineers, business analysts and more. We also work together with data scientists and machine learning engineering in the advanced analytics space to bring data engineering and machine learning closer together and create the most effective ecosystem for the bank.

We promote an open and transparent community, and actively work to bring inner source to the organization, where we open up our projects for collaboration and contributions by anyone who wants to.

Your job

In this role, you’re a platform engineer, software engineer AND data engineer. You work together with your team (The One Data Platform team or 1DPT) and the data engineering community to develop and perfect the Domain Datastore frameworks, capabilities and blueprint.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Asssist with the technical design of the patterns the 1DPT enables for data teams;
  • Implement the necessary features in our (Python) frameworks;
  • Work on our CI/CD pipelines (assisted by our reliability engineers where required) to keep our frameworks and capabilities properly integrated and in line with bank standards;
  • Provide operational support for data teams for problems and incidents;
  • Collaborate with team members and share knowledge;
  • Together with the team and product owner plan and refine the team’s program increments;
  • Participate in the engineering community to help and guide others and help others contribute to the inner source projects the 1DPT is involved with.
Your profile

In general, you’re a competent engineer with excellent Python experience, knowledge of software engineering concepts, cloud computing, and best practices, and a good grasp of the intricacies of cloud computing and building effective and well-integrated systems and software.

You value open and transparent communication, collaboration and look out for the wellbeing of your team members. You enjoy spreading your knowledge and guiding your peers in their own journeys to become better engineers. You respect the knowledge and communication gap and will do your best to bridge this.

At least, you must have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with Python and its ecosystem;
  • Experience with Unix or derivative systems;
  • Experience with Data Engineering best practices;
  • Be familiar with the Azure components we use most heavily: Data Factor, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, Azure Functions;
  • Analytical skills and experience with debugging software, performing impact, root cause analysis, and structural solutioning;
  • Experience working with stakeholders and functional requirements and translating these into technical implementations.

Additionally, we’d prefer if you have:

  • Hands on experience on Azure DevOps and CICD (YAML) pipelines;
  • Have good understanding of Azure security features, logging and monitoring services;
  • Experience working in complex (e.g., regulated and/or enterprise) environments.

We’d be even happier if you:

  • Have working experience with ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence;
  • Have a minimum 2 years of experience in scripting languages;
  • Are knowledgeable of Spark;
  • Are Azure certified (Azure fundamentals, AZ-400, DP-204);
  • Are familiar with Service Management Processes.

We are offering
  • The opportunity to be the best you can be and lots of room to grow both personally and professionally
  • Possibilities for flexible working hours and work from home are negotiable. We offer good facilities for remote working
  • A personal development budget of EUR 1.000 per year, chances to visit tech seminars and events
  • An annual public transportation pass or travel budget, depending on the function
  • Utilization of the latest technology and advanced tooling in a well-equipped office
  • Large responsibility and freedom to finish your tasks
