Senior AIOps Engineer at WB Data Management in Amsterdam

Wholesale Banking Data Lake is on the verge of transitioning from a traditional data warehousing landscape to a big data platform that processes millions of files containing TBs of data with all the necessary (security) controls, monitoring and automation in place that make the solution scalable and in line with banking minimum standards. Within our environment key critical processes run on a daily basis that support strategic ING bank wide initiatives which are used across the world.

To assist us forward on this journey, we are looking for a Senior AIOps Engineer to join our team of experts. The AIOps & Monitoring team fetches large volume of (system) data e.g. job logs, syslogs, critical events and alerts from our big data environment and transform that into meaningful and actionable insight. As Senior AIOps engineer you will work within a team of monitoring experts and application developers and take charge in solving our key challenges both today and in the future based on the analysis of these data sets. The main purpose of the role is to implement state of the art algorithms and develop new technology solutions that make sense out of the derived (system) data captured from our big data environment.

Responsibilities for Senior AIOps Engineer

• Explore, understand and implement machine learning algorithms and concepts
• Handle and process multi TBs/PBs of data sets in a large big data environment
• Engage in full stack development using the latest state of the art technologies
• Ability to design, develop and debug developed applications
• Create excellence in terms of results, quality and system performance through continuous evaluation, analysis and refinement
• Use AI & big data to identify opportunities and work with the team to improve system availability and optimize operations
• Mentor and guide the team of junior/medior DevOps engineers
• Partner with Product Owners, Chapter Leads, Architects and IT Leads during the development cycle

Qualifications for Senior AIOps Engineer

• We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field with strong competencies in algorithms, data structures and design patterns
• Proven experience with AI/ML concepts, distributed computing and big data technologies
• Practical knowledge of working with scalable platforms and processing large volume of data
• Proficiency in programming languages e.g. Java, Scala, Spark, Python
• Experience with version control (e.g. GIT, GitHub) and CI/CD mechanisms
• Experience with Linux operating system or other Unix systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to be able to align with various stakeholders and cross border squads
• Results oriented, determined and having a self-driven attitude
• Understanding of Agile - Scrum methodology
