The opportunity

As a Calypso expert you will join the Cash & Liquidity Calypso scrum team and contribute in an Agile way to the full lifecycle of the application, from analysis to implementation, using our Continuous Delivery pipeline. You develop complex new functionalities and coordinate implementations on the Calypso Production environment.

The role also involves collaboration within the C&L family with the Cash & Liquidity Unite Engine (CLUE) project. This is a new project that involves building an internal solution for normalization of cashflows from scratch. Understanding of the whole flow, both functionally and technically is very important.

The team

The Calypso Global Team is an experienced, international and flexible team. Together with your team you will work on strategic projects that are keeping ING up to date with the latest Financial Market Standards while constantly improving the system, keeping it aligned to ING’s Cash and Liquidity management strategic development path.

Roles and responsibilities

• Work with Product Owner to understand and refine functional specifications and how they translate into application features.
• Use Calypso, Java and other supporting tools to build the requested features.
• Work on strategic projects and coordinate with other IT teams. Be able to take a leading role when needed.
• Be part of a DevOps teams in global Calypso and interact, support business users and stakeholders within different geographic locations of ING.
• Provide recommendations and help improve development tools and processes
• Apply Agile methodology and work in bi-weekly sprints to achieve efficient results in projects.
• You bring seniority to the team and share your knowledge and best practices with the ING Calypso community

Competent Engineer:

• 5+ years Calypso experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Calypso back office (message setups, trades, transfers, workflows, accounting).
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, Cash&Liquidity management and generic back office processing.
• Java hands-on programming knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of payments processing.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to design end to end solutions.
• Eagerness to learn new things and getting involved in complex projects.
• Ability to communicate well with business users and stakeholders.

Nice to have skills:

• Knowledge of Treasury main activities.
• Experience with Java 8 (or higher versions).
• Experience in multi-location teams.
• Functional Product Experience with Financial Markets like Money Market, FX and Securities products.
• Project coordination skills.
• Experience in Agile Way of working, Scrum etc.
• PL/SQL knowledge.
