Senior Frontend Engineer Touchpoint One Experience in Amsterdam

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with a drive to enable ING Engineers globally to speed up their software delivery and achieve the state-of-the-art differentiating customer experience.

ING’s Touchpoint Platform is at the heart of ING’s Strategy providing the capabilities that enable our business to create scalable business applications out of reusable services across ING and Third Parties. The One Experience product area is part of the Touchpoint Platform and contains 3 major products: A Unified Design System, Content Management as a Service, and the SDKs for Web and Mobile.

The SDKs for Web and Mobile
The SDKs for Web and Mobile enables users to build a differentiating customer experience by offering unique and proven high-quality frontend components and tooling to set up web and mobile apps. By consuming it, users adhere to the ING Global Visual Identity and software quality standards. It is at the heart of the frontend community. Features of the SDKs are, among others: a configurable app framework (micro front ends), core and security libraries, dev tooling, and a hybrid framework.

Your work environment

You work in ING’s Touchpoint program, created to deliver ING’s build once use many times strategy. Touchpoint evolves around Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Web libraries, Mobile SDKs, and a Unified Design System: building on performant and accessible frontend web components. We believe it will help ING to accelerate innovation and collaboration with partners, customers, and platforms to improve customer experiences and create new business models. The key to success is our internal portal, which enables parties to connect and create value in an easy, secure, and scalable way.

Your key responsibilities and qualifications

As part of our SDK Team.

• You have a Master or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

• You have +5 years of javascript development experience

• You have experience with NodeJS ecosystem

• You have experience with creating secure, well tested and documented component libraries

• You have experience with continuous delivery and deployment tools for frontend, preferably Azure DevOps

• You have experience with front-end build tools like Webpack and Rollup

• You are familiar with WebComponents meta-specification

  • The Custom Elements specification

  • The shadow DOM specification

  • The ES Module specification

• You have competent knowledge of Accessibility, Security, Performance.

• You are good with TDD, BDD, and testing tools such as Mocha, Chai, Selenium, Karma, etc...

• You keep up to date on the latest technical developments relating to industry standards and best practices.

• You have strong communication skills and easily engage with customers.

• You have excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Someone patient, committed, and willing to fulfil a lot of different roles outside of traditional development, all while making sure the product is optimised for the largest possible audience. You will be at the heart of cutting edge javascript ecosystems and web technologies, such as Web Components and sometimes other technologies and tools to explore. You are meticulous, detail-oriented, and must possess creative and adaptive thinking skills, writes beautiful code, and always stays up to date with the latest technologies.
