Dev Engineer - Trade & Communication Surveillance in Amsterdam

ING is looking for an excellent Python DEV engineer with interest in Machine learning for our high tech and innovative Trade and Communication Surveillance team. The team is responsible for 3 main trade and communications data analysis systems with a broad underlying infrastructure (Large international financial markets organization trading different asset classes, across the globe from 6 main locations), making use of the newest technology standards to find market abuse. Those are ING’s global systems for high tech smart investigations, meaning that the users and stakeholders are found all over the world in Asia, Pacific, Americas, Europe, Middle-east. Work Environment

Do you like to be challenged and have innovation as your middle name? We are looking for engineers that like to explorer new ways of finding market abuse in our large dataset of financial markets data. Daily we ingest and analyze in real-time terrabytes of data (all corporate communication channels like email, chat, voice data, data from trading terminals and many more to come). You will be involved in developing new data integrations, data enrichments, machine learning integrations but also further strengthen our test driven development strategy. In addition, you are expected to contribute to continuous delivery and continuous integration practices and strive to further integrate our machine learning models into our daily operations by MLOPS.

We operate according to a BizDevOps development process and strongly believe in the Agile approach to delivering IT solutions.   • Great analytical skills and conceptual / architectural understanding (UML, BPMN is a nice to have skill)

Personal & technical skillset

Must haves:

  • Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
  • Experience with behavior / test driven development & test automation (we plan to start with functional regression testing automation using Gherkin / Behave)
  • Experience with continuous delivery and deployment tools (knowledge of one of the following three is required Azure DevOps/Jenkins/TFS)
  • Experienced in Agile / Scrum / DevOps projects
  • Good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with data analysis in Python and Pandas/NumPy/SciPy.
  • Self-motivated (take it on and make it happen).
  • Multiple years of experience with executing the processes within an Agile working environment, including risk control and configuration management for high scalability mission-critical applications.
  • Good knowledge of modern relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL or MSSQL

Nice to have:

  • C# skillset is a nice to have as we build custom modules to extend a vendor product
  • Information Security knowledge
  • Experience in Unix environment and commands
  • Experience with MLOPS
  • Machine learning experience in NLP
  • Financial Markets domain knowledge
