Global Infrastructure & Engineering (I&E) provides all the global Tech Infrastructure services and tooling supporting our global engineering workforce. Within Tech I&E, the Tribe Global IT Engineering and Operations serves the goal to provide the end-to-end Engineering Journey for our awesome Engineers, to ensure they can securely design, plan, code, build, deploy, test, run and monitor their application(s).
The team
The Tribe GITEO comprises three Global Areas:
Global Operations – containing the GMCR, GMIM and the Global ServiceNow platform
Global Monitoring – delivering the Global Monitoring Data Pipeline (MDPL)
Global Engineering – providing the Global OnePipeline platform
Roles and responsibilities
With your solid technical understanding of the infrastructure and engineering services, you are the experienced Feature Engineer within GITEO. Next to that, you are the hierarchical lead of your chapter (+/- 6 Feature Engineers) in which you support the growth of craftsmanship of the Feature engineers in your Chapter. On top of that, you support and develop your colleagues through effective knowledge sharing and resource usage and promote the One Agile WoW.
You are the lead for performance management, training plans, remuneration and daily people management for your chapter. You ensure the tribe and squads have the right people and skills and develop the members of your chapter. You lead the chapter meet-up and ensure way of work-related information is shared and craftsmanship improved. You analyze market trends and derive the relevant and for the future necessary adjustments in the craftsmanship.
Together with the Area Leads, Chief Product Owners and Lead Architect of the Tribe you co-define the strategy of the complete Tribe, you implement the relevant parts of it within your scope and divide the requested features among your Engineers, whereby you also act as a Feature Engineer.
You will be a member of the Engineering Area and will be reporting to the Area Lead Global Engineering. The global Engineering community, the global Architecture community and global Transformation Office are critical for alignment, while is it essential to maintain a solid working relationship with your colleagues inside and outside of Tech I&E.
Key Responsibilities
Work first and foremost as Feature Engineer for GITEO, follow the Tribe’s strategy and execute the functional change
Manage required features and balance priorities to enable the squads within GITEO to deliver the highest value possible.
Own delivery of the Tribe’s purpose, together with the CPO’s, the Area Leads and the Tribe lead (define the priorities, manage the backlog and relevant stakeholders, and ultimately deliver value for the consumers)
Co-create the Vision and Strategy of the Tribe, and contribute to its realisation: we will move to a Software Company
Lead the development of the agile and LEAN organisation to build and manage the necessary services
Motivate your Feature Engineers – so they keep on generating the maximum results and feel valued
Together with the Area Leads and Chapter Leads maintain high standards across multiple geographies and cultures – currently spread across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Romania, India and the Philippines
Work with ING (business) units globally to effectively on-board them onto the global cloud & platform services portfolio
You will work in a fully ING agile compliant “way of working” method and make sure you create succession plans for your own role and key leads in your domain. Engineering quality is paramount importance to help accelerate quality and you will be ambassador within ING wider ecosystem to attract top talent to ING
Leadership:
Together with the Area Lead manage your Product Owners and Engineers, operating primarily from Amsterdam, but with staff located in six globally dispersed locations

(Academic) degree in (Information) Technology
5-10 years of experience, preferably in international Software Development environments with global reach
Minimal 4 years of relevant experience (ideally in banking environments) as a Feature Engineer / Product Owner/ Project Manager / Product Manager
Proven track record of developing and operating strategic platform or capabilities successfully in an enterprise environment
Ability to lead in a virtual, complex agile/devops environment
Think in strategic priorities terms - based on professional expertise, be able to develop a long-term vision
Have strong analytical & judgement skills to recognize key information, identify problem, establish connections and validate before acting
Demonstrable track record of building and maintaining highly collaborative, flexible, and productive relationships
Work independently against a high internal quality standard with attention for detail
Willingness to travel internationally
Experience within the Financial Service Industry
Experience with a Big4 consulting firm is a plus
Experience within ING Tech and more specifically ING Infra & Engineering is a plus
Mastery of the English language (written and in speech), Dutch is a plus
