DevOps Engineer in Amsterdam

ING Group Services is looking to add a DevOps Engineer with experience and in depth knowledge of software application development, Agile methodology as well as being a team player.

For a graph technology driven project, we are looking for a frontend developer who enjoys working in an innovative environment. Willing to pick up any kind of task in our stack and open to learn about new technologies and processes that might come along to bring iGraph to the next level within the organization. iGraph provides insights in the IT landscape of ING using graph visualizations, (graph) analytics and by providing our users with easy to consume graph data.

As a DevOps Engineer :

• Develop existing and new applications by analysing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new applications to meet customer requirements;

• Research data from digital product/service performance, customer behaviour, and market trends to identify opportunities for product/service improvement;

• Anticipates and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders. For example, provides guidance so that others understand the needs of different stakeholders and can balance them appropriately. Makes sure people understand and adhere to ethical standards when working with stakeholders; models and ensures cross-cultural sensitivity;

• Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. For example, encourages coworkers and external partners to work together as a team, and makes sure they get credit for doing so. You will be working within the department Group Services / Enterprise Architecture and reporting to the Chapter lead of GS/EA/Design & Discovery. The chapter consists of 10 Engineers with different backgrounds working in three different applications. You will find a strong team spirit and collaboration between the different squads.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years’ experience as a Software Engineer. You have a proven track record in design, developing and maintaining an application. You are able to work at an advanced level shifting into and out of a mental mindset associated with assessing the facts and circumstances of the current situation and/or environment and making the appropriate/innovative adjustments to thinking and work habits to thrive in any scenario. You can work independently but also provide guidance. You have an extensive understanding of the concepts of continuous delivery and you are able to help colleagues design and set up their continuous delivery pipeline. You have experience when it comes to testing and monitoring and are able to correlate the data and suggest new approaches.
