Full Stack Engineer in Amsterdam

ING is looking for engineers who like to work on innovative products solving unique challenges while using with the latest technologies. We took Cucumber and made it suitable to allow the teams in ING to test large-scale systems together. From their pipelines and by using our front-end web application.

• Building and servicing an e2e test platform, which allows teams to build, deploy and run their e2e tests together.
• Finding elegant solutions to technical problems, architectural design and making our frontend look good.
• Decide together on the best technical setup. We have some standards and are not shy to experiment with good open source solutions.
• Work together with other teams that use our product. Helping others to be successful is part of our dna. 
• As a developer collaborate with other developers and testers shaping our product. They are our users.
• Test automate and deploy your stuff yourself. There are no testers or ops-ers.
• Developing yourself. We try to match work and learning ambitions and have a day during each two week sprint to focus in learning.

• Java 8 and 11 with Spring. We like it RESTful.
• Javascript - Vanilla JS. We are migrating from Polymer to ing-web web components.
• Linux. All our machines are hosted in ING Private cloud.
• Azure. Our GIT repos and pipelines are there. And we plan to integrate our with ING OnePipeline to be triggered by all teams.
• Kafka. To inform other ING Tools.
• Cucumber of course, in the core of our product.
• Oracle/H2
• Junit, Jasmine, Selenium

• This vacancy is for two engineers (Engineer III and Engineer IV), and we will be looking for a combination of experiences.
• Where there is a lack of experience we will look for eagerness to learn.
• Java with Spring is the core competency you will need, including the test tooling that goes with that.
• Having a long term mindset is important. Think from our products vision and architecture, not quick fix.
• You want to automate the repetitive work away, for your team and your users.
• In a small team you need to be able to be critical to your team mates and speak up.
• And equally important in a small team is that we help and coach each other.
• Without English, all communication stops. Expect many cultures and nationalities.
