Background

The Global CISO organisation of ING is responsible to assist ING management, business and other tribes in providing customer friendly services in a safe and secure way. Business leaders and CISO are jointly responsible for bank-wide security. CISO is mandated to drive required change in all domains, business and IT.

The application monitoring product owner is supporting the development of an ING wide baseline for application monitoring (replacing the current standard) in cooperation with the Security Architecture team. After setting the standard, the new way of monitoring will need to be implemented and productized through ING globally, which will be planned, lead and controlled by the Application Monitoring PO. The Application Monitoring PO is reporting to the Chief Product Owner for day-to-day activities and to the SDR Program Manager.

With the expertise on security detection and operations, he or she will deliver necessary know how and skills within the squad to realize the squads shared purpose to identify cyber and insider attacks as soon as possible in order to enable adequate response, day by day.

The Application Monitoring Product Owner:

- combines security detection product management,  detection algorithms, triage and security operations knowledge and business expertise;

- ensures that the stakeholder and end-consumer’s experience is recognised by the squad;

Key Responsibilities

The Application Monitoring Product Owner supports the operational leads for the security detection and response  processes and is responsible for:

  • Supporting the CPO Security Detection in development and deployment of security detection  products and services for applications
  • Involving the Expert Leads Security Detection in operational process management, execution and improvement of the global governance of the service and other stakeholder management
  • Identifying functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders, aimed to provide high quality security detection for ING’s application landscape
  • Acting as point of contact for (indented) consumers of new product
  • Support developing vision and roadmap for the security detection services of CISO (which are aligned with the overall vision and roadmap for the department)
  • Providing expertise to structure, prioritize and coordinate backlog (i.e. addressing functional and non-functional requirements)
  • Maintaining relations with the country and business unit leaders to ensure effectiveness of the products
  • Assist in reporting on progress and risks of project/program to the Head of SDR, CPO and other stakeholders

Audit & Compliance

  • Work with the CPO Security Detection and ensure compliance of the new product/service to applicable standards and regulations

Requirements

Proven track record and technical skills:

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity , computer science or comparable degree
  • 3-10 years’ professional experience and relevant information security. Ideally in larger companies and corporate consulting experience is required.
  • Subject matter expert in the area of Security Detection and Response, specifically in the area of application threats and application monitoring
  • Good understanding of (security) data analytics, quantitative modelling of data and data research
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering security services, e.g. security monitoring, incident and crisis management, threat intelligence etc.
  • Strong knowledge of current security technologies and emerging trends in the area of security detection or monitoring
  • Working knowledge of pertinent law and regulations on security detection and monitoring, e.g. privacy
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as good negotiation and change management skills
  • Can demonstrate success in establishing relationships and influencing decision-making
  • Ability to simplify complexity and drive operational excellence
  • Ability to support yourself and other team members in development
  • Good level of English
  • Experience in a financial environment is a plus
