The team

Group Services is part of ING TECH and manages the applications, systems and processes needed for ING Group entities like Finance, Risk and HR. Group Services takes care of application development and configuration, and performs various operational IT activities.

Group Services is also responsible for the development and delivery of change initiatives in these ING Group entities, whereby we adhere to the Spotify model and have implemented the Agile Way of Working.

The chapter is positioned within the Finance tribe Accounting and is primarily responsible for building Aptitude Accounting Hub (AAH) as an accounting solution and PeopleSoft as one General Ledger for all the countries. AAH is our strategic and standard solution for detailed and customer level accounting in ING.

The chapter has an agile mind-set, an eye and drive for continuous improvement, is Risk aware and has eagerness to learn and adapt. The chapter is data driven and is the trusted advisor to its stakeholders. Especially looking at the numerous requirements coming our way, this chapter plays a crucial role and is at the heart of ING Finance.

• Translation of business requirements into tech requirement;
• You support the product owner and the squad in managing the backlog by translating epics into features and, together with the squad, into user stories.
• Information analysis: you analyze the necessary input, output, and adjustment of data in the client processes. You analyze the information need. You investigate the quality of the captured data and come up with solutions to improve quality;
• Implement and maintain accounting business rules configuration and Jaspersoft reports (including ad hoc Financial report requests);
• Implement and maintain the controls related to the minimum standards in relation to accounting;
• Safeguard the SOx standards in relation to accounting;
• Maintain, based on the product life cycle, the (event based) product accounting specifications for Retail banking products like Loans, deposit etc or Global Securities Finance products like by example Equity Linked Repo’s, Securities, Swaps, FX, MM and Corporate Actions.
• Define and maintain non product related ledger processes and services like by example Revaluation, reclassification , Reconciliation, cost of funding, year-end closing etc.
• Understanding and Maintaining the accounting reference data for e.g. books, organizational structure etc
• Developing/maintaining documentation and process descriptions to clarify the working of functionality for end users, such as user manuals and Quick Reference Cards (QRCs);
• Execute Functional, Acceptance and Migration testing;
• Writing the automated system test for every change you perform
• Functional support; daily checking of EOD (timeliness, correctness, completeness of financial/product accounting, reporting, ledger).

• Excellent communication skills in oral and written English;
• Knowledge of and experience of working with PL/SQL;
• Knowledge of and experience with Aptitude Accounting Hub is preferred and configuration of accounting rules;
• You like to work in a multidisciplinary squad and in a dynamic international environment;
• Experience in Azure DevOps
• Basic knowledge of Java, Ansible, Linux
