We are looking for a Feature Engineer / Technical Business Analyst with a drive to create global, scalable services within the ING Assisted Channels that enables ING to become a truly global bank.

Assisted Channels offers a global platform for all advisory, contact centers and back-offices employees to handle every customer demand with ease, integrated with the global platform that facilitates communication between customers and employees via any channel.

The team

You will be part of a group of 10 senior, driven, feature engineers, working with multiple teams across both of our Global Platforms and with other departments within ING. Supporting each other is a key value you will experience right away.

Working within the Global Assisted Platforms offers the opportunity for international collaboration with the other ING countries using our platforms.

And as we make an effort to stay ahead with business innovation and architecture, you will be anticipating and challenging global target architectures to make it fit for our Assisted needs.

As a feature engineer you will be working on the complex and larger projects we have.

What’s a Feature Engineer within Assisted Channels?

ING Assisted Channels is looking for a Feature Engineer for the IT-area of Global Assisted Platforms.

As feature engineer you are bringing the Global Assisted Platforms to the next level by driving innovation and standardization across the global functions.

You organize and make the cross squad/tribe deliverables happen.

To help us realize our goals and ambitions we are looking for an enthusiastic Feature Engineer in this field. Hiring Manager is Nienke Vellinga.

A Feature Engineer within Assisted Channels does the following:

• New business requirements/functionalities are translated into understandable and actionable items and technical designs for the squads
• Safeguard the delivery of complex features, often cross-team/domain; herewith maintaining close relationship with (business) counterpart(s)
• Work together with other Feature Engineers, Domain Architects, Product Owners and DevOps teams in an international environment
• Help shape the feature roadmap in periodical planning sessions towards Vision, Themes and Epics
• Refine and design features to the desired level of technical detail clarifying its technical usage and interdependencies with other features in our data, platform and infra architecture.
• Identifying which Squads/Teams/specialists to involve in the Agile build cycle
• Challenge and advise Product Owners on Feature dependencies and priorities and backlog alignment of individual Squads

Your “backpack” should contain:

• At least 3-5 years of experience as (technical) business analyst for innovative products in a technology environment
• Experience in refining and designing features,
• Bachelor or Master Degree in IT (Engineering)
• Be able to listen to our consumers, understand their needs and find elegant and simple solutions to develop new product features
• Be able to communicate on a business and technical level, and bridging the gap between both
• Technical understanding of different levels of abstraction and systems you will be building
• Work together with the engineering squad(s) to determine the best technical solution
• Document the new features, create data models, sequence diagrams and other visuals to help consumers use the new product features in their web and mobile solutions
• Always want to learn and grow, never hesitate to tackle things hands-on to make it happen
• Experienced with the agile way of working
• Optional Contact Center knowledge
