ING is looking for an Ops Engineer for our Global Communication platform

The opportunity

Within Assisted Channels we are looking for an experienced (senior) OPS-engineer in our IT Area where we build, run and maintain the global Call Center solution for ING Worldwide! Via our Call Center solutions ING customers worldwide can contact ING by phone, chat, email and video. We are using cool techniques to make this possible. The team

The team where we have the vacancy is situated in Amsterdam, but we do also have locations in Leeuwarden and Manilla. Within our Call Center Solution we handle a CRM solution, Voice (Telephony), Chat, Chatbot, Messaging (Email), Video and more.

Roles and responsibilities

As an OPS-engineer you take care of:

• Applications in our platform being available for our internal and external customers 7*24 .
• Coordinating and arranging installation, stability and monitoring of our platforms.
• Create new monitoring dashboards and make sure that you receive an alert before our customers are facing issues
• Advisory on and implementation of life cycle management activities.
• Setting standards for (automated) processes.
• Signalizing issues and structurally solve these issues/incidents.
• Being compliant to all the security and compliancy guidelines.

Knowledge and experience

• Operations expert: 5+ years of experience working using Agile DevOps principles
• Solid understanding how technology setup and ITSM processes relate to service level objectives like Availability (time based, successful call rate, response times)
• You have a pro-active mindset in a 365 x 24 x 7 global environment

Proven experience:

• working as a (Dev)Ops engineer in a Linux environment
• scripting in at least one of the following: Python, Bash
• set up Build and Deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO)
• set up white-box monitoring and able to formulate meaningful metrics for monitoring and reporting
• Understanding of networking techniques
• Able to coordinate/lead incident response and root cause analysis activities
• Understanding of IT Service Management processes

Prior work experience with tools:

• CI/CD Pipeline: Azure Devops
• Cloud computing and container orchestration: Linux VM’s and Kubernetes container platforms. Knowledge of OpenShift + AKS and related certifications are a pre.
• logging/monitoring/alerting: Kafka, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus. Experience with black box monitoring tools like Rigor/Splunk and AI Ops tools is a pre.

• You have knowledge of the Linux stack and Oracle, NoSQL.
• You can combine both executing (mainly) and thinking/develop.
• You help your colleagues, ask for help and feedback but are also dare to give feedback.
• You recognize in your (natural) personality the properties like technical, ownership, team player, innovative, pro-active, flexible, customer and solution focused.
• You are experienced and familiar with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
• You have a passion for technique and like to be “hands-on” involved.
• You are a frequent visitor of conferences and meetups.
