The opportunity

We are Global Workplace Services at ING and we deliver Workplace services for ING colleagues worldwide. We ensure that our colleagues can work simple and safely with any device, wherever they are at home, in the office, or in another country. Specifically, we provide laptops, (virtual) desktops, mobile, and fixed telephony, video conferencing, software (e.g. Outlook, SharePoint, Windows, and Office). WPS has standardized on SaaS (cloud) services. 

The workplace program is standardizing Workplace IT-services globally. By end of 2022 these solutions will be adopted by 60K users globally. The workplace solutions are based on public cloud services with an as small as possible on-premise footprint.

The team

In addition to our current portfolio, we are planning to add a specific software Developer Workplace solution, that is focused on supporting our developer community with maximum flexibility and an environment that will support high productivity.

As a result of this strategic decision, we will setup this developer workplace via a high pace agile project to design, build and integrate this new solution in our portfolio for 2022.

To support us we are looking for senior engineers with a passion for workplace IT and software development.

Roles and responsibilities

• You will be responsible for creation and maintenance of building blocks for the Windows Developer workplace.

• You will supervise the implementations of solutions - in accordance with the design. 

• You are responsible for designing part of the service and making sure our customers stay satisfied. This includes gathering and describing ING (service) requirements, refining epics and features, active internal stakeholder management, and manage the contractual obligations of the sourced services and the way of working of ING.

• Maintenance of design documents within the domain – assure completeness and integrity. 

• Research new Workplace innovations, including delivering proof of concepts. 

• Lead technical discussions with clients that drive decisions and implementations.

• Ability to visualize, articulate, and solving complex problems.

• You will be temporarily filling in as element owner of several development tools (e.g. Docker, OnePipeline, Confluence, Visual Studio, etc) and therefore be able to act as third line support for these packages.

• You have at least 5 years of experience in comparable roles and you have an outstanding track record of designing the Modern Developer Workplace. This specifically includes components like W10, cloud PC (W365), MEM Intune, Autopilot, Powershell, etc.

• Experienced in designing security and network for Modern Workplace. This specifically includes Restricted Access rights, Cyberark EPM, device hardening, VPN and jumphosts.

• A strong understanding of Microsoft services and have the certifications to prove it.

• Relevant IT experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-level Workplace management technologies within a multinational organization.

• You have worked in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial institutions).

• You improve yourself constantly; and you challenge, improve and train others continuously.

• You are the ‘go-to-person’ for the team when encountering challenges.

• Stakeholder management (e.g. developer community, CISO, workplace services) on all the levels within the organization of ING, work together with them to achieve your set goals.

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field/ equivalent work experience 

• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of conveying complex technical topics to various audiences.
