Feature Engineer Point of Sale Lending in Amsterdam

The opportunity

Delivering a new ‘PayCtrl’ solution to ING countries enabling Point of Sale Lending for merchants and our customers. PayCtrl is a banking capability that enables ING to issue an instant loan to customers of online merchants at the moment of checkout. The service is developed in collaboration with a third party lending aggregator that offers ‘pay later’ options to merchants.

The team

We are a small tribe located in Amsterdam, with offshore IT delivery in ING’s own Tech delivery centers. The team is very international, working from Amsterdam as well as from home office. You will work closely with the business community in head office and the countries, as well as the IT architect and delivery manager to create the best possible solution. Occasional travel is part of the job.

Roles and responsibilities

Your main task is to translate the business requirements into features and stories and prepare them to be developed, and drive delivery with the IT area lead.

• Define and detail Features to the desired level of detail with a focus on technical solution directions, technical dependencies, clarifying functional and technical dependencies and identifying which Squads/Teams/specialists to involve.
• Challenge and advise Product Owners on feature dependencies and priorities and backlog alignment of individual squads
• Help closing IT risk and compliance controls by providing and collecting evidence
• May facilitate periodical planning sessions for future epics and features
  • Supports the test manager, who ensures the test team to define the feature test plan(ning) (e.g. integration-, user- and production acceptance test)
  • Stimulates inter-squad collaboration towards an integrated solution
• Manage the delivery time lines with the IT area lead, taking into account dependencies of several surrounding teams, manage impediments.

You are a driven Feature Engineer who is passionate about IT. You are ambitious with what you and the teams you work with wants to achieve. Together with your IT and business colleagues you ensure that business epics are translated into working IT solutions and shape an organization that is less complex, more agile and effective and more decisive.

•        Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background in IT.

•        Relevant IT experience: minimum of 5 years

•        Preferred candidate has relevant consumer lending domain experience

•        Understanding of risk controls and compliance requirements in banking
