Background

As part of the ING Tech Domain, the mission of Group Services is to support and empower the ING organization to accomplish its goals and ambitions by improving our operational excellence, customer experience and efficiency through the delivery of innovative, stable and scalable technology solutions.

As part of the KYC domain and focusing on the Data area of the Global KYC delivery Tribe, you will be involved with the development of state-of-the-art solutions on relevant topics such as Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing, Fraud, Sanctions and their global implementation across 40+ countries, affecting 36 million ING customers.

Job description and requirements

  • Understands business needs and translates them into highly effective technical solutions
  • Performs setup of data platforms using different technologies, on-premise and in cloud
  • Monitors the platforms and applications by tracking service metrics, using internal/external set of tools
  • Establishes CI/CD processes and practices
    • Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines, ensures that quality controls are embedded in them
    • Manages optimal deployments and promotions to higher environments
    • Supports the application through ITIL processes
  • Performs Data Operations activities
    • Jobs configuration and scheduling
    • Deployment and monitoring of data pipelines (pro-active and reactive)
    • Adhering to the agreed SLAs
  • Responsible for ensuring business continuity
    • Change management, incident management, troubleshooting and analyses
    • Automation (operations and platform)
    • Performs lifecycle management related tasks like patching/upgradation
  • Ensures compliance by maintaining and improving reliability
    • Keeps ITRMP (ING internal control framework for IT Risk) green
    • Maintains access matrix (SOLL in ING framework)
    • Confirms service agreements are met
  • Quality controls
    • Participates in refinement to ensure adequate acceptance criteria
    • Implements automated functional tests
    • Manages Disaster Recovery test plans and execution
    • Manages Penetration test plans and execution
    • Implements Performance Tests
    • Takes part in manual testing when necessary

What we expect

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering
  • Technology, tools and process knowledge
    • Strong technical and analytical lead skills (multiple years of experience in the field)
    • LINUX/UNIX skills including scripting and housekeeping
    • Extended knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps
    • Good knowledge and experience with Oracle administration and performance tuning
    • Knowledge of IT networks, monitoring tools (ex. Grafana, Kibana) and troubleshooting techniques
    • Experienced in testing and approving topology and infrastructure modifications
    • Experience with Infra and Platform Lifecycle Management (Patching/Upgrades)
    • Experience with Scheduler platforms (for ex. UAC) for automation and orchestration of the processes
    • Basic understanding of SQL and ETL processes (IBM DataStage, for troubleshooting purposes)
    • Knowledge of a relevant automation ops principles. Experience with a automation testing tool is a plus (ex. Selenium, Cucumber, Ansible)
    • Experience in working in Agile way
    • Delivery-oriented, coaching and soft skills
    • Effective at understanding customer needs and translating them into highly-effective technical solutions
    • Determine work breakdown and tasking, resolve technical issues, understand technical architectures.
