Customer Journey Expert – Data Modeling Analyst in Amsterdam

Who we are

Data Management is one of the foundation topics of the Making the Difference strategy to become one digital bank. The Chief Data Management Office (CDMO) is aiming to take ING's data management capabilities to the next level by further enhancing and implementing our data management strategy that stipulates how we want to govern data throughout the bank.

Key components for bringing all of the bank’s data under governance are:

•           Implement a uniform data governance throughout ING

•           Uniformly measure the quality of data

•           Use of uniform policies and processes around data
 

The role

ING is looking to recruit a Customer Journey Expert - Data Modeling Analyst within the Chapter. The team member will be responsible for the front-to-end analysis of the requirements from the various Regulatory and Business Initiatives. Together with the other members of the Chapter, the Data Management - Data Modeling Analyst investigates the data provided from the sources, analyses, and profiles the data and aligns with the consuming side to map the information into ING’s shared data language and business terms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Modeling Analyst you:

• You have a competent understanding of data management as a whole
• You work and act rapidly and independently and work closely together with data management experts, other data modelers, financial experts and other stakeholders within ING
• You support refining the data requirements and translate them to business terms and develop conceptual models
• You support the delivery of agreed principle and quality criteria: ING Esperanto Business terms, Conceptual Data Models, Logical Data Models, data mappings and other documentation necessary to bring into the global data definition of the entire ING group
• Maintaining business terms and definitions, including data quality requirements and meta data
• Support defining requirements for Data Quality, Data Lineage and Data Governance
• You challenge and inspire on purpose and solution, persuades fact based to come to realize the business benefits
• Prepares data from complex applications and messy data sources, actively builds solutions for others to use. Takes responsibility to build solutions for any identified errors, educates and shares fixes with others.
• You maintain high standards across multiple geographies and cultures

We are looking for

• Master's degree
• At least 3 years of working experience as an analyst in data, preferably in modelling
• Ability to work in a (partially) virtual, complex international landscape
• You are a self-starter, demonstrating building and maintaining highly collaborative, flexible, and productive relationships
• Proactive, Can-Do and Positive mind-set
• A consulting mindset including an ability to think about Data Management in a way that is abstracted from how business functions currently operate
• Result oriented with an ability to solve problems
• Intermediate understanding and experience around Data Management, Data Warehousing, Data modelling technics, Data Architecture, Data Mapping, Data Profiling in an agile environment
• Work independently against a high internal quality standard with attention for detail
• Mastery of the English language (written and in speech)
• Understanding of SQL/SAS
