Information Analyst

Do you get a buzz from collaborating with our retail business units? Are you enthusiastic when you can translate the customer's issue into technical solutions in a customised environment? Would you like to collaborate on updating our applications in the field of integration and user experience? If so, we'd love to talk to you about the position of Information Analyst!

As Information Analyst, you would play an important role in the start-up phase of software development projects. You would work at our branches across Europe: shops, offices and logistics centers. Not just for one retail formula, but for all of our European retail formulae at the same time. These include Kruidvat, Trekpleister and ICI PARIS XL in the Netherlands, Belgium and France, as well as Drogas, Spectr and Watsons in Eastern Europe, for example. The application landscape contains the CRM system Oracle Siebel, Adobe Campaign, an Oracle Service Bus (OSB) and WES. WES is an ERP system developed in-house containing a large number of different applications that support our business processes.

As Information Analyst, you would be responsible for producing structured design documents. You would bring about the transition from wish to specification, which the Scrum teams can then use to get to work. You would use standard methods and techniques in doing so. Your documents would include the necessary flow and relationship charts, as well as information and data models. You would align the desired solution with the product owner, your Scrum team and the user organisation. You would also be involved in drawing up technical designs and acceptance criteria. As part of both a team and a project, you would work together with the product owner, business analysts and development teams. Finally, you would ensure that the functional and technical documentation is successfully transferred to the management organisation.

Your daily work activities would include:

  • drawing up functional designs by analysing existing documentation and technical requirements;
  • being involved in drawing up process charts and process descriptions where necessary;
  • serving as an information source for the development team concerning the system's functioning;
  • actively collaborating on improvements within both the development team and your field, position and tribe.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR THIS JOB Information Analyst?
  • At least a HBO (hoger beroepsonderwijs, higher professional education) level of education, preferably ICT-related.
  • At least two years' experience in drawing up functional designs (experience in retail using Oracle (Forms/APEX) environments and/or GUI/UX design would be an advantage).
  • Knowledge and experience with tools, methods and techniques for documenting processes and designs.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (because you would be working for the European retail formulae, a good command of written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of the Dutch language is a must).
  • A proactive, service-oriented approach.
  • Good communication skills on various levels with users, project managers and middle management within organisations, and knowledge of the Agile way of working.

As Information Analyst, you form part of the IT Europe Group, the department that facilitates all our European business units in the IT field. We upgrade our software and hardware each year, so we always work with state-of-the-art systems and can operate with the required flexibility in the market. Every day we go in search of ways to improve and innovate the systems that are in use. At A.S. Watson, we do this ourselves: we develop our own software, build our own systems and roll them out ourselves. In other words, your work truly has an impact: everything that you do can be traced back to full or empty shelves in the stores, short or long lines at the register, etc.

What do we offer you besides this inspiring work environment?

  • A job within a successful international organisation that is constantly evolving and where we work with top brands. We can guarantee you one thing: you’ll never be bored with us!
  • A good salary appropriate for your professional and intellectual ability and experience and 30 vacation days on a full-time basis… you’ll also enjoy a staff discount at Kruidvat, Trekpleister and ICI PARIS XL.
  • Ample opportunities for development and advancement: our organisation’s growth and success means we can always offer talented employees the opportunity for growth and advancement in the future.
  • An informal, no-nonsense work ethic: results matter, but the same goes for mutual respect and a pleasant work environment.

You must live up to your promises. At A.S. Watson Benelux, we not only believe this, but we also do it. Our HR policy has won several prizes, including the HR Proffie and Top Employer. This implies that we not only invest in an excellent employment conditions package and great working conditions but also in our colleagues. You don't merely work for us, but we also give you the opportunity to grow to the level that best suits you.
