As manager of the Data Innovation and Analytics team, you're leading the largest pool (15 FTE) of true data scientists (PhD's in Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics) within ABN AMRO. The DIA team is organised under the CIO organisation and has the mission to make ABN AMRO a data drive bank. To do so, the team works on various cases that demonstrate the potential of Advanced Analytics for either the IT unit itself or other business lines if this is appropriate. By doing so, the team and its individuals do not only talk the theory, but demonstrate tangible results in practice, ultimately with the goal to bring most of them to a robust and sustainable production setting.
By allocating the data scientists to the various use cases, you safeguard the coherence of ABN AMRO's portfolio and the stability of the Data Science capability. You will focus on the balance between exploratory work, enabling the DS capability and value delivery. 
With your fellow data science managers from other business lines you will find ways to get the most out of the entire Data Science community of practice within ABN AMRO.
 

DIA is part of the Data Quality & Analytics team within IT Solutions. As the name already reveal's: this is the unit within IT Solutions, responsible for further expanding ABN AMRO's capabilities to leverage the power of big data. DQ&A currently builds on modern data management platforms to work with data and safeguard the quality of it. On premise we're setting up a bank wide Raw Data Store on our own Hadoop clusters, which will provide a rich source for all current and future operational and analytical processes. We recently invested heavily in solutions to ensure lineage, security and other meta data features. We also aknowledge that the future lies in the public cloud, so your toolset will more and more move to (native) cloud solutions on Azure and AWS.

You have a proven track record in creating a culture of collaboration, result driven and ambition. You are a recruiting talent, as good data scientists are not easy to find.
