What are you going to do:
The Senior Microsoft Engineer is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing a large-scale private cloud environment that supports business-critical SaaS solutions.
The role focuses on managing and improving the Microsoft-based infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and operational excellence. Responsibilities include automating recurring maintenance tasks, managing the Microsoft Azure environment, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of the hosting platform.
Working closely with specialists in networking, virtualization, security, backup, and monitoring, the Senior Microsoft Engineer contributes to the continuous improvement of the IT landscape and helps deliver stable and secure services to customers in the insurance and pension sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft server and cloud environments.
- Lead the automation of operational and maintenance processes using PowerShell and related technologies.
- Administer and improve the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, monitoring, and logging standards are met.
- Support vulnerability management and security hardening initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement projects.

What we ask
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with proven experience as a Microsoft Systems Engineer in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, Azure, SQL Server, and advanced PowerShell scripting.
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure security, system hardening, vulnerability management, compliance requirements, and security auditing.
- Professional proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; Dutch language skills are considered an advantage.
- Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented professional with a strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
