The job of the Scrum Master is to ensure the optimum performance of one or more teams (Blocks). You constantly push your Block to continously improve. And you ensure that the Block has everything it needs to do so: you are a facilitator. An important aspect of your job is to implement the Scrum working method and to improve and actively contribute to the development of the Agile philosophy within the Bank, among other things by playing an active role in initiatives outside your Block.The Scrum Master is also a servant leader of the Block. You help colleagues understand which interactions with the Block are helpful and which aren’t. The Scrum Master helps everyone to change these interactions, so that the Block is able to create maximum value. This vacancy is for job level 10 and 11.
Your jobAs Scrum Master you are responsible for the optimum performance of the Blocks where you are active in terms of continuous improvement, speed of delivery, quality, cooperation and development. In liaison with the Block, you ensure a mature Scrum process within the Block and as a minimum take charge of all standard Scrum events (daily stand-ups, refinement sessions, retrospectives, planning ssessions, poker moments, etc.). You also liaise with the Product Owner, on both the scope and the definition of done.The Scrum Master ensures the proper functioning of a Block, a process in which you need to weigh all the personal characteristics of the team members and the interests of the organisation. Your task is to serve the team and you remain focused on the optimum performance targets. If you see impediments in your Block, you remove them and advise the line on impediments in general. You highlight problems and opportunities in the composition of the Block at an early stage and ensure good cooperation between internal colleagues and offshore and/or vendor staff.Your close involvement in the day-to-day activities of a Block enable you to advise the Engineering Leads in relation to HR matters and performance management.
Your working environmentYou will work as scrummaster within the Channels International domain and within the PB Digital Banking Grid. The PB Digital Banking Grid is responsible for products/services in web and app for customer and client service teams of the Private Bank which consists out of Neuflize OBC in France, Bethmann Bank in Germany, ABN AMRO MeesPierson in the Netherlands (for wealth management only), and ABN AMRO Private Banking in Belgium, Luxembourg and Channel Islands.A Grid is a clearly and logically defined cluster of Blocks with end-to-end responsibility for one or more product groups, channels or enablers. There are three variants of Grids: (1) Product Grid, (2) Distribution Grid and (3) Enabling Grid, in which business and IT colleagues work together using the Agile Way of Working.The Scrum Master works within a Grid.A Block is a multidisciplinary collaborative unit consisting of professionals from the Business Lines and the IT organisation (5 to 10 persons) who work together autonomously towards one goal.The Scrum Master facilitates, supervises and coaches at least one Scrum team (IT Block) of around nine persons. The IT Blocks may consist of a mix of internal, external and vendor IT engineers (onsite and offshore).Wthin IT Solutions, the Scrum Master reports to the IT Engineering Lead, who in turn reports to the IT Delivery Lead / IT Technology Lead / CT Lead.
Your profileYou ideally have the following background:Proficient in English and Dutch or German or French• Higher professional education (HBO) graduate
• Five year's relevant work experience in a complex IT environment More specifically, you have:
• Scrum Master accreditation (PSM 1)
• Knowledge of software development processes
• Affinity with the technical aspects of software development
• Knowledge of change rmanagement, servant leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, continuous improvement
• Knowledge of the accounting system and organisation, internal and external developments within the discipline and, in situations where subject expertise forms part of the role, knowledge of own area of responsibility
• Knowledge and understanding of (internal) IT architecture
• Experience working in a multi-vendor IT-sourcing environment
• Knowledge of scaled Agile methods and procedures (Agile partnerships between several Scrum teams)
