Operations Engineer Financial Markets & Treasury: Credit Risk

Within Financial Markets & Group Treasury, we are looking for an enthusiastic Ops Engineer. Together with your team members you will be maintaining and supporting the Adaptiv Credit Risk (ACR) application used globally within ING Financial Markets/Credit Risk Management.

ACR is ING’s Credit Risk application for measuring Credit Risk for Financial Markets & Group Treasury products. ACR is connected to most Financial Markets Front Office deal capture systems used by ING trading locations across the globe.

The ACR team operates as a BizDevOps squad representing ING Tech, the Risk COO organization and developers of the Vendor FIS.

Main services delivered by ACR are:

• Real-time limit check functionality for most of the Front Office deal capture systems;
• Credit limit and Violation management, in order to prevent a too high concentration of financial exposure to counterparties;
• Calculation engine for Pre-Settlement exposure, Settlement exposure, Money Market exposure and Investment risk;
• Calculation of Exposure at Default (input for capital calculation);
• Delivering various end of day files (e.g. for the Collateral Margining process, Risk Calculations, Vortex (reporting)).

As an ACR Ops Engineer, you will operate in a multi-disciplinary role whereby Credit Risk knowledge, IT Automation, Operations and stakeholder management are key in your day-to-day activities. As such, knowledge of IT Operations and Credit Risk is not a must but highly appreciated.

Job description:

• Together with your IT colleagues in Singapore, Amsterdam and the vendor FIS in the UK, you will support the global user base (traders, credit risk specialists, etc) with requests, questions and issues regarding ACR;
• Analyse, test and implement the requirements regarding changes requested by Counterparty Credit Risk Management together with the FIS developers;
• Work in an Agile environment with sprints of two weeks;
• Test the resilience of the application during disaster recovery exercises; 
• Implement and document ING’s IT Risk & security controls.
• Work on improving a current process through automation and identifying improvements in the Customer Journey.

What you bring to the team

• A university degree in Business information systems, Economics, Computer Science
• Experience as an Ops engineer or business analyst ;
• Willingness to learn Credit Risk Management and Financial Markets products;
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Familiarity with tools like Confluence, Snow;
• Experience or affinity with IT Risk & Security concepts;
• Excellent communication skills in English;
• Strong analytical skills, proactivity and willingness to share knowledge with others in the team.
• Experience with ACR or Counterparty Credit Risk as a user or analyst is a big plus;
• You thrive in a team setting and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
