For the IT domain Customer & Data we are looking for a passionate and inspiring IT Chapter Lead with extensive experience as an OPS engineer in a Linux environment.
The team
We have just completed the migration of Mainframe and are now entering the next phase in creating the target solution.
Your Chapter will contribute to this transition with its engineers in the coming years. In addition, the customer and account systems are largely kept operational by your OPS engineers.
The DevOps squads within ING Bank use the Scrum methodology and a far-reaching Agile Way-of-Work. This puts ING Bank at the forefront of the working method used for designing, building and testing applications, as well as the process of commissioning, managing and ultimately decommissioning applications.
Within our squads, banking software solutions are developed to support the Customer Data and Current Accounts business processes. Mostly built in Java, but also, for example, C++.
Roles and responsibilities
First of all, as an IT Engineer in a DevOps squad, you fulfill an important IT substantive role in keeping the software solutions for the Digital Business Banking Tribe operational. You work closely with other chapters and colleagues within our IT Area and beyond. You not only 'talk' technology, but also understand the process importance of the applications and what this ultimately means for our customers.
In addition to a substantive IT engineering function, you also act as a coach for your Chapter. You are responsible for all HR aspects associated with stimulating, motivating and coaching the experts in your Chapter, which consists of about 20 engineers. In addition, you manage the relationship with the various vendors in order to guarantee continuity and to implement the desired transition. As a Chapter Lead, you are responsible for the knowledge development of your employees within the Way-of-Work of ING.
- Further develop the scheduling of over 200 applications for which we are responsible.
- Keeping these applications up to date
- Keeping the stack on which these applications run up to date
- The broad and efficient investment of the Risc processes within your domain
- Attend relevant / interesting information sessions in your field together with the Chapter
- Working together with your Chapter on relevant IT issues within the bank (with the aim of knowledge development)
- Etc.

• Strong market focus in IT (Lean IT, continuous delivery, cloud processes, etc.)

• You have a mindset of continuous improvement
What to bring:
• Completed HBO/WO education in computer science (or similar)
• Experience with developing and managing large banking applications
